Mission Goals: Provide specialized and primary care, promote clinic services and follow-up care throughout the year.
Mission Date: July 16-23, 2011

Mission Team: Team comprised of 16 members of doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, Spanish interpreters and teens who took time away from family and paid their own expenses to help the people of the North Hills.
Mission Accomplishments: 277 adults and
100 children were seen at the clinic. Sixteen duffle bags of medication and supplies carried through customs. $6,000 in medication provided to St. Charles Borromeo Clinic for six months of distribution.
Mission Overview: The Medical Mission team was formed in February 2011 and met monthly for six months to prepare for the mission trip to Colinas del Norte, a barrio 10,000 feet above sea level and 20 minutes outside of Quito, Ecuador.
This was the third trip to Ecuador and the North Hills.
This trip focused on five 10-hour days of clinic work, seeing as many people as possible. Promotion of the clinic for follow-up care was key, while patients waited patiently to be seen. The team engaged each day with enthusiasm and passion.
Three meetings took place with Sr. Lourdes, administrator of the clinic, to assess the financial status of the clinic and provide insight into the state of the clinic. The Medical Mission team provided marketing strategies to help promote the services the clinic offers after the team returns to the states.
The long term goal is to have the clinic self sufficient in as little as two years. Monthly reports from the clinic will provide statistics of patient totals and medication prescribed. The Medical Mission team left exhausted, but hopeful, for the future of St. Charles Borromeo clinic.
